The urgent need to have the eco-friendly-, raw materials- and cost saving Honicel- technology widely available, has motivated Honicel Worldwide B.V. to go out into the world with the unique Honicel® - Honipack® and Honiwrap® production technology. This means Honicel Worldwide has decided to offer her world leading Honicel®- Honipack®- and Honiwrap® production & processing machines, -technology and knowhow to entrepreneurs / investors in specific geographical market areas.

Apart from offering the aforementioned production and processing machines, Honicel Worldwide is also promoting and offering the Honicel Modular Housing Panel System based on the eco- friendly Honipack Board System.

And last but not least we are offering the Honicel aluminium honeycomb Panel -HP- and the Honicel Ceramic Panel -HCP- The HP and the HCP are manufactured in one of the state of the art very efficient, high quality output, production units of Honicel Honeycomb Material Holdings Ltd. in Guangzhou – P.R. China.

History and backgrounds of Honicel

Our original group company history starts in the year 1913 in The Netherlands - Europe

The creation of the business activities of Honicel is a logical consequence of the original building construction and building materials production & trade. In addition to production and trade (B2B) a continuous improvement process of production machines and production technology was a matter of course. "Stagnation means decline!"

Since its inception in the year 1913, the company management and its successive successors have always proved to be very successful pioneers & developers. Always being focused on developing new products, designing new production technology and - machines and creating new markets. That’s the “secret” behind the success of our group of companies. That is why we have such a very long history and we are still as young and dynamic as in the early days as to pioneer & to develop is in our DNA.

The introduction of the honeycomb structure in industry:

Right after the 2nd World War a period of reconstruction began in Western Europe. Due to the extreme shortage and urgent needs of building and construction materials, we were in search for alternative solutions. At that time we came across the hexagonal honeycomb structure. In principle the honeycomb structure was developed during the 2nd World War for the aviation (aircraft) industry. The honeycomb shape has unique characteristics. It is incredibly strong No other shape can offer this strength by making use of this minimum amount of raw materials. Nature is working very efficient, that’s why the bee’s in the beehive use the hexagonal shape. Likewise all natural cell structures, when you cross cut the cell, you will find the hexagonal / honeycomb shape. So we can learn from nature how to design an extremely strong light-weight structure, by making use of the minimum of material substance.

The Honicel business activities started approximately 75 years ago:

Since approximately 75 years ago the company Honicel is the one who developed the industrialized paper honeycomb manufacturing technology. Colloquially the company name also became the name for the honeycomb product and due to that, it is branded as HONICEL®.

By making use of Honicel®-honeycomb concept instead of solid materials e.g. like wood, huge consumption of wood is saved. The Honicel-honeycomb core creates a high quality extremely strong light-weight sandwich panel. Due to tremendous savings in weight also indirect cost savings will be achieved like significant reduction of protective packing materials, less transport costs etc.

That means, Honicel in China will take care of the market in P.R. China, Honicel in Indonesia will take care of the market in Indonesia. Likewise Honicel India in India, and so on.
